55002 'The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry' in the National Collection.

Images of D9002 / 55002 following acquisition by The National Railway Museum after 2.1.82. Initially displayed in the 2 tone green livery carried during its final months of BR service, the locomotive is presently displayed in the popular rail blue livery.
The locomotive arrived at the NRM in near working order (it was withdrawn from BR service following a failure in December 1981) and was initially returned to working order for occasional use , notably visits to private railways. It is not thought to be in working order at present. There are some hopes that this situation may change in the future.
