Welcome to 'Deltic Detour' created in 2006. This site contains images of Class 55 Deltic locomotives employed on special trains and diversionary or unusual routes for the type during BR days to 2 January 1982. There are also a few other collections for some post 2.1.82 events based around the surviving individual locomotives including the Prototype. Visitors can post (polite) comments under individual images. Any comments left will not appear on the site.
Special thanks to the photographers who have kindly made archive material available for use here. Each photographer has been duly credited under his (or her) work in the image caption area.
Future additions to this site will mainly be from BR Days. If you wish to offer any material (in any format) for possible use please get in touch via the 'Leave A Message' button, thanks. |
